Our Living History and Summer Reading Program Kick-Off Event is on May 22 at 11:00 a.m.! Learn how to participate in our programs and events and pick up your History at Home Summer Reading Bag - children can also participate in a STEAM activity. All registered attendees will also be entered to win a special raffle prize!
• This is an outdoor event at the library (weather permitting). Masks and registration required.

Our Summer Reading Program ends on July 17th - and we're having a party at the library to celebrate at 11:00 a.m.! Everyone who participated in the Summer Reading Program is invited as we draw prize prize winners and bury our time capsule.

Our Summer Reading Program offers more than just reading – take part in our art workshops, D.I.Y. programs and more!
Curbside Activities
Different activities will be available outside the library to enjoy nature as part of our programs this summer!
Free YMCA Lunches
Free lunches are provided every Wednesday for kids ages 18 and under to take home and enjoy, courtesy of the Milton YMCA.
Take & Create
In addition to our programs, Take & Create activities will be available in the children’s library to do more fun projects at home.

Gardening Reimagined (3rd Wednesdays)
Get your hands (a little) dirty in this gardening series led by local Master
Gardener and homesteader, PJ Harte. Learn about Raised Bed & Container
Gardening ( May 15th), Composting (June 19th), Weeding (July 17th),
Harvesting & Beyond! (August 21st) Masks required.
Kick-Off Event
Register May 1st – 21st and come to the Kick-Off to pick up your History at Home Summer Reading bag with everything you’ll need this summer! Registration & masks required.
Leap Into Science STEM Family Storytime (June 9th @ 11:30am)
Join us for a special Summertime Storytime with the Lewisburg Children’s Museum! Following storytime, children will investigate the properties of balance using hands-on, open-ended STEM activities. Recommended for ages 3-5 and their caregiver. Program held outside. Registration & masks required.
D.I.Y. Terrariums (June 12th @ 11:00am)
Make your own terrarium at the library. Ages 3 and up (younger children will need adult supervision). Program held outside. Registration & masks required.
Looking: A Nature Drawing Workshop (June 19th @ 11:00am)
Join local artist Brice Brown for a guided workshop to create your own masterpiece! Workshop and materials provided by Milton Art Bank.
Program held outside. Registration and masks required.
Cubism Self-Portraits (June 29th @ 3:30pm)
Draw yourself like Picasso using Cubism Art. Ages 4 and up. Program held outside. Registration & masks required.
Tale Trail: A Tale with Tails Adventure (July 1st-17th)
Become part of the tale as you walk around the library grounds reading this one-of-a-kind story and discovering your inner Dr. Doolittle. This outdoor passive program can be enjoyed on your own schedule outside of library hours. Fun for all ages!
Wrap-Up Party (July 17th @ 11:00am)
Let’s close out our Living History and Summer Reading Programs with a wrap-up party—don’t miss out on food and games, the announcement of prize winners and our Time Capsule dedication. Registration & masks required.
Community Time Capsule
The Milton Public Library is building our first time capsule – and you can be part of it! As part of our Summer Reading Program, you can write a letter or draw a picture to be included in the time capsule and go down in library history.
